My Bee-story
I started beekeeping during a time when my family, both close and extended, was going through a major shift. It was hard in ways that are difficult to put into words. Beekeeping found me in that season, and it gave me exactly what I needed: a reason to slow down, step outside, and be fully present in a moment.
There is something humbling about working with bees. They do not care about your stress or your timeline, they just do the work. And watching that work overflow into jars of golden honey? That never gets old. It reminded me that patience and consistency produce something beautiful.
Golden Essence Honey was born from that place… healing, wonder, and a growing love for these incredible creatures. The deeper purpose has always been simple: to share that peace, that joy, and that knowledge with anyone willing to slow down long enough to receive it.
The Brand
Golden Essence Honey is a Black-owned small business rooted right here in Indianapolis, built on nothing more than curiosity and a deep love for what bees can teach us.
It started simply; I wanted to know where honey really comes from. That one question pulled me into a world I never expected, and honestly? It changed me. I became a beekeeper, and with every hive I tend, I learn something new that still manages to surprise me.
What started as a personal journey has grown into something I get to share with others. When you support Golden Essence, you are not just getting raw, small-batch honey crafted with real intention, you are getting a piece of that story. I love spreading knowledge about honeybees just as much as I love the honey itself, because these little creatures deserve more credit than most people give them.
